Pack Your Period Pouch
By the eva team · · 2 min read
A small period pouch can make unexpected period days feel much easier. Learn what to keep inside your pouch so you're ready for school, travel, sleepovers or whenever your period decides to show up.
1. Your Period Pouch = Your Little Backup Plan
You can't always predict exactly when your period will start, but you can be prepared. A small period pouch in your backpack can give you peace of mind wherever you go.
2. 1. Keep A Few Pads
Start with two or three pads that you already know how to use. Keep a few extras in your pouch so you have enough for an unexpected period start or a day when you need to change your pad while you're away from home.
3. 2. Add A Spare Pair Of Underwear
A spare pair of clean underwear can be useful if your period starts unexpectedly or you experience a leak. Fold it neatly and keep it in a small reusable bag inside your pouch.
4. 3. Add A Small Pack Of Tissues
Tissues or unscented wipes can be helpful when you're away from home and want to freshen up. If you use wipes, choose gentle, unscented ones and avoid putting them inside the vagina.
5. 4. Pack A Small Disposal Bag
A small opaque disposal bag can be useful when you don't have access to a bin immediately. Wrap used period products securely before placing them in the appropriate waste bin. Never flush pads or other menstrual products down the toilet.
6. 5. Add A Comfort Item
If period days sometimes come with cramps or discomfort, you can add something small that helps you feel better—like a heat patch if appropriate for you, or a comforting note to remind yourself to slow down and take care of yourself.
7. Keep Your Pouch Where You Can Reach It
Your period pouch is most useful when you can easily find it. Keep it in your school backpack, everyday bag or another place you regularly carry with you. Check it occasionally and replace anything you've used.
8. Your Period Pouch. Your Peace Of Mind.
You don't need a huge bag full of supplies. Just a few useful essentials can help you feel prepared and confident. Pack what works for you, keep it stocked and remember—you've got this.
